Monroe Hawley, 1923 – 2017

Hawley, Monroe E. Went home to God on February 28, 2017, at age 93. He is survived by Julia, his wife of 71 years, by his children Wayne (Gayle) Hawley, Dale (Vicki) Hawley, Glynda (John) Giemza, and Glenn (Leanna) Hawley, by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He moved his family to Milwaukee in 1951 to work for the 35th & Cherry Church of Christ. In 1958 he helped establish the Southside Church of Christ where he labored for over 50 years. Hawley was an author of four books and four Bible correspondence courses. He was also a founding member of the Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp (WCYC) and a member of the York College Board of Trustees for 21 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to WCYC (2750 Saemann Ave. Sheboygan, WI 53018). Visitation Saturday March 4, at SOUTHSIDE CHURCH (1933 W. Grange Ave. Milwaukee, WI) from 1:00-3:00 PM. Funeral Service at 3:15 PM. Private Entombment Arlington Park Cemetery.
