Crawfords Are Moving On
Below is the “Message from the President”, as it appeared in the Spring 2015 WCYC Newsletter
by Gary Byram, President, WCYC Board of Directors, Spring 2015
With great regret, the Board announces that Jade and Danielle Crawford will be leaving their respective roles as Operations Manager and Kitchen Manager for WCYC at the end of this year. Jade and Danielle have been a tremendous blessing. They have served in this role for the last four years, but now need to adjust their schedule and commitments to meet the needs of their family as their children get older and even take off for college. Their spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to WCYC will be missed, but they will be staying in the Black River Falls area and will continue their commitment and involvement in the area.
In Jade & Danielle’s words: “We have another calling in life, working with children in the foster care system, and we feel that dividing our time with WCYC, family, or children-in-need is not wise, fair, or adequate for anyone. After many prayers and a great deal of contemplation, we have decided to step away from this role at WCYC.”
Steve Frazier will be chairing the search process on behalf of the Board of Directors. The Board is in the process of forming a Search Committee and is already engage in framing the approach and key milestones to identify a successor for the Crawfords. Ideally, we will be able to make that happen in a way that will allow the new Operations Manager the opportunity to work with and observe the Crawfords during part of this summer’s camping season. Stay tuned for updates on the WCYC website, and other social media sites as the search gets underway.
Please, contact Steve Frazier at [email protected] if you have thoughts or suggestions on potential candidates. This is a challenging role that is vitally important to how smoothly the summer sessions run as well as how well camp is maintained to support both the core camp sessions, and the availability to support so many other events and activities throughout the rest of the year. The Operations Manager and his family are the most visible hosts of WCYC to the local community and to all those served by camp. This search, as always in the past, will be led by God and we trust in Him to continue to bless WCYC the way he has in the past with the people who have taken on this ministry to WCYC and the children the camp serves.
